Many audiophiles praise the ribbon tweeter for their excellent clarity, transparency and imaging. The key to its performance is the almost weightless ribbon element. It consists of a Kapton film membrane with a pattern of aluminum conductors, that is placed precisely between two rows of neodymium magnets. The result is an immediate and precise response to any transients found in the original signal and the ability to deliver musical detail. The PT2 features a large membrane and radiating area, providing higher power handling and a substantially lower cut off frequency. The membrane is thermally attached to a cast aluminum plate providing cooling and dramatically increasing dynamic range. The flared waveguide provides wide horizontal dispersion producing an excellent off axis response. At the same time, limiting vertical dispersion, which reduces disturbing floor and ceiling reflections. Perfect for "Line Array" applications. Recommended second order crossover cut-off frequency, 3 kHz or higher. The crossover frequency can be lowered to 2,500 Hz if a 3rd order crossover is used.
