WE'VE SOLVED THE ADHESIVE PROBLEM!!

It did not happen often, but occasionally there were problems with the contact glue that we were bottling for refoam kits. We found that if not used in a timely fashion or if exposed to high temperatures (like those found in a delivery truck) there was a reaction between the plastic bottle and solvent. We are now sending 1 oz bottles of DAP Contact glue that comes with its own applicator so the problem is solved, BUT do not spread on both surfaces as listed in the instructions. Do not apply adhesive to the foam.

We appreciate your patience and suggestions as we worked towards this solution OUR CUSTOMERS ARE THE BEST!

Measure your speaker before looking for sizes. Some speakers have an extra large outside frame that will throw off your measurements. You need to measure the inside and outside diameter of the original foam. You will need to remove the gaskets (if there is one) to do so. Determine the size of the foam you need. When evaluating, remember, the inside edge of the foam will overlap the outside edge of the cone by approximately 1/4" (0.250)
Do not remove the original dustcap on Infinity Bullet or Bose 802 or 901 woofers; center by eye, ear and feel.

HOW TO MEASURE:

A: OD (outside diameter) outside edge to outside edge of speaker frame. In this example the OD is 6.5". BUT, the most important info is the OD of the original foam. In this case, the OD of the original foam (under the gasket) is approx 6.0".

B: ID (inside diameter) of gaskets or OD of original foam surround (where the foam surround edge begins on the outside speaker frame - under the gaskets). Here the ID is 5.5". outside speaker frame). Here the ID is 5.5" Your foam will extend beyond the inside edge of the gaskets, so the OD of the foam should be a mimimum of 5.75".

C: ID of Original Foam. Here the measurement is 4.5". Remember, you need 1/4" overlap for the foam to attach to the cone so if your C is 4.5" then the body of your cone OD should be 4.25".

D: OD of Original Dustcap. Here you see the measurement is 1.75" - What material? = screen. HOW TO MEASURE: This speaker would use the RFK6 Angle.

Note: If your speaker has a larger flange as this Infinity speaker does, we do not need to know that the measurement for "A" is 8.75". We would still consider this an 8" speaker. The "B" dimension is that the foam OD is 7.75". That is the important info. "C" is 5" and "D" is 2" screen. This speaker would use the RFK8 Angle. |

ID: Inside Diameter

OD: Outside Diameter
